Wikimania is the Wikimedia movement's annual conference, organized by the community of contributors and hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation.

A scholarship is a grant given to an individual to enable them to attend Wikimania 2027 in person. Scholarship recipients are selected by the Scholarships Committee of the Wikimania 2027 Core Organizing Team, and funds are provided by the Wikimedia Foundation.

Scholarships cover flights, accommodation, registration, daily per diem to cover incidentals and meals during the event pre-conference and conference days, as well as limited medical insurance.

✅ Eligibility

You must fit at least one of these categories:

• Project Contributions: Editing, adding references, translating, patrolling, or mentoring.
• Technical & Tool Building: MediaWiki code, gadgets, or tools.
• Organizational Involvement: Active role in a Wikimedia group, hub, committee, chapter, or user group.
• Event & Program Leadership: Organizing or joining events (e.g., edit-a-thons, Wiki Loves Monuments) or programs (e.g., GLAM, education).
• Administrative & Advanced Roles: Current or past admin, steward, CheckUser, VRT member, or interface admin.
• Grantee Status: Current or past Wikimedia Foundation grantee.
